Career Development Perspective

My old view of career development:

1. Seeing others' success as my setback (zero-sum game)
2. Believing I had to outpace everyone else for my own growth
3. Feeling I had to protect my work and knowledge to get ahead

My new view of career development:

1. Being inspired by others' success and seeking to learn from them
2. Recognizing that everyone's journey is unique and independent of others' progress
3. Actively sharing my work and knowledge to foster others' development, which in turn leads to my own growth

My previous view on career development was limiting.

In the past, I was obsessed with others' successes, seeing them as a threat to my own progress. I felt the need to outpace everyone and kept my work and knowledge guarded.

Now, I find inspiration in others' successes and seek to learn from them. I understand that my growth is independent of others' journeys, and I actively share my work and knowledge to help others grow, which in turn contributes to my own development.

Small shift in perspective, big impact on career.
