Your skills matter less than you think,

Your expectations matter more than you know.

📚 Just finished "The Expectation Effect" by David Robson, and it's transforming how I think about performance at work.

Stanford researchers found that people’s 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳𝘀 about their genetics had more influence on exercise performance than their 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 genetics.

Now imagine the career impact of beliefs like:
• “I always choke on stage”
• “I’m terrible at networking”
• “There’s no way I’ll get that job”

These aren't just thoughts.
They're creating your reality.

Here are 3 ways to change the script:

  1. Treat challenges as experiments — either way, you learn
  2. Swap “I’m not ready” for “I’m learning” or add “yet”
  3. After every win, whisper: “Of course. This is who I am now.”

Your potential isn’t fixed. It flexes with your expectations.

So — what would you try if you 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘸 you couldn’t fail?

PS: Expectation also directly links to happiness!
