A hill I’ll die on: Chasing milestones is how we miss our own growth.
We’re programmed to fixate on the horizon—
the next goal, the next validation, the next win.
Fulfillment isn’t found in forward motion alone.
It lives in the pause—
the quiet moment when you realize how far you’ve come.
As my friend Jorge Luis Pando shared:
You're told to "always look forward"
But reflecting turns experience into wisdom.
Most high performers I've met live by this.
We're taught to "keep looking forward."
Push harder. Reach higher.
Chase the next milestone.
But here's the truth:
Your growth has no finish line.
There will always be another goal.
Another mountain to climb.
Another milestone to chase.
And that's exactly why looking back matters.
Take a moment to reflect on:
✅ How you overcame the challenges you once feared.
✅ Everything you've built (even if there's more to do).
✅ The skills you've gained along the way.
So yes, keep moving forward.
But every now and then, look back too.
And feel proud.
Reflection fuels progress.
And the end of the week is the perfect time to pause.
